Whole Leaf Aloe Vera, recognized for centuries as the all-natural “miracle” ingredient, is the basis of Naturally Lindy Skin Care products.
There are about 200 species of this amazing plant, but the Aloe Vera (Aloe Barbadenis), meaning “true aloe” in Latin, used in Naturally Lindy products, is considered the most effective healer.
For more than 3,500 years, historical documents from cultures around the world, including Egyptians, Greeks, North Africans, Indians and Chinese, report the use of Aloe Vera for both medicinal and cosmetic purposes, especially in skin preparations and treatments.
Aloe Vera acts as a moisturizer that nourishes the skin. It’s non-greasy so it’s excellent for healing acne. The succulent leaves contain a healing gel that acts as an astringent, emollient, anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and anti-viral, and it stimulates cell regeneration. It does a remarkable job of counteracting surface skin infections and healing burns and wounds when applied topically, and it can be used for many skin conditions, including psoriasis, eczema, acne, stretch marks, and itching.
What makes our Aloe Vera so special?
It’s the way it is grown, and the care taken in harvesting and processing it in whole leaf form. We source our Aloe Vera from a small farm where the plants are grown in specially designed greenhouses that are climate-controlled, so the plants can be kept in optimum conditions and harvested year-round.
Since Aloe Vera plants are most productive at temperatures between 70° and 80° Fahrenheit, the greenhouses are kept at just the right temperature for healthy, thriving plants. This allows the Aloe plants to grow without experiencing any shock from climate change, resulting in the highest quality plants possible.
Our suppliers use no pesticides or herbicides, and the plants are fed a multi-mineral mix that is adjusted regularly to fit the changing needs of the plants due to changing sun levels with the seasons. The plants literally “suck up” the nutrients and store them in their luscious gel and sap.
Once the Aloe plants have completely matured, the whole plants are harvested, roots and all. Then the leaves are harvested (up to 60 pounds per plant) and the remaining heart and roots are replanted, allowing for the highest level of regeneration. So basically, we’re supporting plant recycling. The leaves are processed immediately, resulting in the strongest Whole Leaf Aloe Vera possible—this goes directly into our Naturally Lindy skin care products. The result is the most effective Aloe Vera products you can buy.
Aloe plants maintain more vitamins and minerals, as well as biologically-active compounds such as calcium, potassium, magnesium, sodium, zinc and polysaccharides, when they live in a stress-free environment at optimum temperatures.
In other words, the better care taken in growing the Aloe, the better care the Aloe takes of us— and the better that Naturally Lindy products with Whole Leaf Aloe Vera take care of your skin.
